Riverside - March Field Museum

This museum is adjacent to March Air Reserve Base and is located in Riverside, California. This large museum has small indoor section and a great big outdoors. Indoor your eye is immediately caught by the beautiful SR-71A Blackbird with its cockpit visible to the public. Outdoor highlights include legendary aircraft such as the YF-14A Tomcat, the B-29 Superfortress and the KC-135 Stratotanker. 

Due to the proximity of the airbase, active military aircraft can be seen as well and the museum even provided a small tribune for viewing the active runway. March ARB is home to a big fleet of KC-135s, C-17s and F-16's. Some civil cargo flights from Prime Air are carried out from here as well. We visited this museum in 2018 on a Saturday, and we discovered that the weekends have not that many flying activities..
